An unidentified flying object (UFO) was reportedly so massive that it was seen simultaneously above Shanghai and Beijing on August 20, 2011. It was first seen around 9 in the evening by a Chinese civil aviation pilot flying flight CZ655 of China Southern Airlines from Shanghai to Changchun.
The pilot posted the incident in a Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo having a nickname “The girl-picking mushroom 168” and depicted it as a shocking experience. The pilot wrote on the site saying that UFO was spherical in shape and was expanding from small to large. It is further described that the UFO was hundreds of times larger than the moon having a diameter of about 50 sea miles or 92.6 kilometers. The pilot further revealed that the UFO faded gradually after hovering for about 20 minutes above Shanghai.
Incidentally the pilot was not the only one who saw the UFO. East China Air Traffic Control Bureau claimed that its air control department received reports about the UFO sightings on August 20 from several other pilots. The Bureau told the press that the glowing UFO posed no danger to flight safety and civil aviation because it was far away from airplanes. Flights were not affected by the massive UFO in Shanghai.
Xinhuanet.com told that various other amateur astronomers from around 1,500 kilometers north of Shanghai claimed that during a star-gazing event they spotted a “bubble-like object” above the suburbs of Beijing around 9 in the evening on August 20.
Shanghai Daily newspaper reported that an engineer of National Astronomical Observatories Ma Jing claimed that he took a set of pictures indicating the UFO rise from the west like an “expanding round white cloud,” however several minutes later the UFO disappeared.
On the other hand, an expert from Shanghai UFO Research Center that there is a possibility that the UFO was a fragment of a satellite launched two days earlier by Russia. China News Service reported that the Express-AM4 communication satellite of Russia disappeared after takeoff on Thursday morning of August 18.

Probably one of the Arks !!
Why did something so extraordinary show itself over China? It's like Siberia. I just wish it had been a place where folks with cell phones and better access to the Internet could have jumped on and reported it all at once. We may never get the whole story coming out of there.

early sign of enormous earthquake? There was sighting of the strange light before earthquake happened in Tang Shan
This is very interesting, yet frightening at the same time. I feel that it's credible as having been seen by Chinese pilots. Whether it is explainable as a part of a launched Russian satellite needs more explanations.

I just wonder if this is another cover-up of something that can't be explained. I'm not an expert by any means, but this doesn't look like a fragment of
Personally I think it's great they feel compelled to pass on info that sometimes only they would be privy to, it's reassuring & harder for others to deceive no matter what it turns out to be.
Well done !
