• Extra-terrestrial craft have no need for blinking lights. Terrestrial aircraft have blinking lights to alert other aircraft as to what direction they're traveling, as locater beacons, and other navigational functions. If you see a "strange" aircraft with blinking lights you can be sure that it's one of ours.

• Yes, UFOs aren't going to advertise them selves with lights of any kind, especially blinking ones. Show me a video of a completely dark object blotting out the stars and THAT will be epic.
