The following are two of the most popular sightings reported by pilots.
On March 3, 2013, Airline pilot Captain Jim Courant shared his encounter at the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure, a hearing that lasted a week discussing about UFO encounters and participated by six former Congress members at the National Press Club.
Courant saw a blue-green oval shape approaching towards his commercial plane while flying above Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1995.
According to Courant the object shot up at a 45 degree angle in a flash of burning white light. The air traffic control tower also received reports about the object by four other pilots.
One pilot suggested it was a meteor but Courant did not think the same because meteor doesn’t go back up.
Courant pointed out that many pilots choose to remain silent about their UFO encounters or are ordered not to mention a thing about it. He cited flight 747 pilot over the Pacific in 1980 wherein the pilot was shocked to see a large flying object but after he was debriefed upon arriving his destination in Japan, he was ordered not to mention about it ever again.
Captain Ray Bowyer’s report about a brilliant yellow object was among the highly publicised UFO sightings involving a passenger aircraft pilot. In 2007, Bowyer saw the brilliant yellow object in which he described as sharp and well-defined. He could even see graphite grey parts. Bowyer shared his UFO encounter to the Richard and Judy Show as his employer Aurigny Air Services encouraged him to do so.
According to Bowyer, the first time he noticed the object, he thought it was a reflecting light off greenhouses below. After a couple of minutes, he noticed it was too constant and after 12 minutes of seeing it, he knew it was a real object. He was also certain that the thing was not a cloud formation as he saw lenticular clouds, the type of cloud usually mistaken as UFOs.
Aside from Bowyer, his co-pilot and passengers also reported the sighting. According Bowyer, he and his co-pilot were obliged to report the sighting because they were in controlled airspace when they encountered such strange object, prompting the media to discover it. He lost sight of the object after seeing it for 12 minutes about 50 miles away because he descended below a haze layer. The object could be a mile long as estimated by the pilot.

I want to know how many pilots recently have reported these sightings? I've seen a couple UFOs lately and their has been several places flying around them almost inspecting them. I've been waiting for another pilot to come out in the media lately but nothing! I guess like he said in the article, the are encouraged to keep quite, which does everyone a disservice.
i know a pilot who flies for Qantas in New Zealand. i asked him about ufos and if he was ever encouraged or discouraged from telling. he said that yes, he'd seen ufos and wanted to report them, but was discouraged to do it. why would that industry ever discourage pilots from saying this, i just don't know. it is a huge disservice.
All ye of little faith..
If there's money or power to be lost, releasing evidence of alien life from other worlds will be covered up until one of those fellas steps out of a ship on the white house lawn and says; time to pay real estate tax for use of planet earth fellas.
