Lee-Anne Peters from Hobart set her alarm to wake up early for her daughter’s 16th birthday. She was in her kitchen cooking some dishes when she saw a fireball streaking across the sky. She pointed out that her kitchen window has an excellent view of the eastern sky.
The witness first thought it was just a plane since she was living near an airport. However, she realized the UFO was too high in the sky for it to be considered as an everyday aerial object.
She alerted her daughter about it while getting her video camera. Her daughter grabbed a pair of binoculars while Lee-Anne zoomed in to record the entire thing on video.
Lee-Anne posted the video to Facebook hoping to get some explanations. The footage was shared more than thousands of times and got mixed answers about the apparent UFO.
Some thought it was alien, others suggested it was a plane, and some wanted to be very clear that it definitely wasn’t a plane.
Astronomer at Launceston Planetarium, Chris Arkle, told ABC News that it was a high flying aircraft, judging the length of time it was visible and the apparent speed.
However, others say that this is exactly what the space aliens would want people to believe.
