UFO sightings have been reported as early as 1400 BC, and Cook County is one of those famous places allegedly visited by aliens. A local Cook County woman had caught the attention of Dr. James McDonald after she claimed of witnessing a UFO in the sky. Her case was one of several sightings featured in U.S. Air force national study “Condon Report.”
The effort of scientist McDonald to locate the woman led to a correspondence with Adolf “Ade” Toftey of Cook County News-Herald editor.
This is the story of searching the local woman, featuring original letters from the Cook County Historical Society archives.
This feature is produced by Martha Marnocha and a collaboration between the Cook County Historical Society and WTIP.
Special appreciations to Erik Hahn as the voice of scientist James McDonald.
