The public do not know all of the facts. Some researchers have made progress with books and videos but nothing that matches the equipment and facilities the government has. They probably know a lot more than has been revealed by retired military people due to security levels. It is possible the news is not good and is in fact very worrying and so the government is trying to hide it for as long as possible. There is no doubt the abductions occurred and it is amazing how people don't want to know, they just automatically do not believe it and are not prepared to look at the evidence. It would be a massive shock if the findings are very negative to mankind. After all out telescopes cannot yet see a planet as beautiful as the Earth. It must be a magnet for any alien race whatever their reasons for coming here.
