• My first thought was it’s a drone with lights on the bottom. Someone operates it remotely, including turning lights on and off. Sadly, hoaxers can cause a lot of hoopla that muddies the waters.

  If you (author) really believe this is real, you should not be surprised as to why people mock the UFO scene.

  • If it is not real, then it is amazing that it exactly matches one I watched hovering overhead for several minutes in cloud covering over 5000 miles away on the opposite coast of the US.

• Real. I saw one of these 20 years ago and only a few thousand feet above me hovering for several minutes. The triangle corners are a detail I have been looking for in a video since then. All that I have seen since that day are either orbs in triangle formation, or TR-3B's with the center field generator illuminated. The one in this video is a lot further away than you think too. Because the one I saw with a friend for several minutes was miles large. Definitely a mothership compared to the hundreds of feet or smaller ones that the vast majority of the videos show.

  • you need to rewatch the first clip. it dims when it crosses a break in the clouds. its a light on the ground shining up at the clouds. im not trying to say your experiences didnt happen but it couldn't have been exactly this.

• This is clearly just a high powered light being projected onto cloud cover. I've seen this countless times at circuses, festivals and parties. Think about the location! Santa Monica Pier, CA... a tourist attraction in itself. I'm not saying this is a definite and purposeful hoax, but almost certainly a case of mistaken identity.

  And before the hard-charging believers start crying, just think about all those misidentified flares over training areas near military bases... Don't believe so hard that you lose credibility by eliminating critical thinking. I am 100% a believer in the UFP phenomenon, I just don't swallow things that can be easily explained for the sake of my beliefs.

• look closely at 1:05 the cellphone screen of the dude with glasses and you will see this is staged

• The fact that a group of people taking cell phone videos are for some unknown reason looking back at the one camera operator and pointing to the UFO is just lousy acting and they are clearly following stage directions.

• I think this is a hoax. Look at 1:09 in the video. The top cell phone is not pointed at the "ufo" yet it is positioned in the middle of the phone's screen.
