On October 26, 2022, several light pillars appeared in the sky above South Korea’s southern island of Jeju. Meteorologists attributed the event to the high-level clouds, as the light from them reflected the light coming from the fishing boats.

We get a similar phenomenon with islands in Maine, They seem to tretch upward. It rare.
I have not seen pillars of light.
