Australia and Oceania, the region comprising Australia, New Zealand, and the islands of the Pacific Ocean, have also been the site of numerous reported UFO sightings. These sightings have occurred both during the day and at night, and have been reported by a variety of witnesses, including farmers, fishermen, and other people living and working in the region. Some of the most well-known sightings include the 1978 UFO sightings in New Zealand, in which multiple witnesses reported seeing a large, triangular-shaped UFO, and the 1980 UFO sightings in Australia, in which a UFO was reportedly seen hovering near the town of Wycliffe Well. While the existence of extraterrestrial life and the reality of UFO sightings remain highly debated and controversial, Australia and Oceania continue to be a location of interest for UFO researchers and enthusiasts.
