well here’s what happened…i was as at Mandy’s in O’fallon il on thursday night..i do an acoustic gig there every thursday…on my break i went outside to smoke and i noticed these crazy looking lights so i ran back inside and grabbed my camera..its just a lil canon but it takes vid,though it is mostly for still shots…anyways..they were going basically north maybe a lil northwest…the weird thing was that they or it was completely silent..no one really even noticed.! but i am into ufos so i was pretty excited..the worst part is my batteries died or i might have been able to get more footage…its nuts because this vid gets a lot of views but most of my friends think since im mr. alien that i somehow hoaxed the footage…but i really didnt and what i filmed is 100 percent real. whatever it is…

Those are chinese lanterns. Someone must have gotten married and let them off.
Those 'lights' were sky lanterns. And that's all to say. To add that sky lanterns are available in 'red' and in 'white'. These lights were in classical behaviour of lanterns, sorry, NO UFO.

Can anyone tell me why the UFOs are typically white and why we can never see a defined shape? Is it because they are so far in the distance. Chinese lanterns
I live south of Effingham, IL and I saw something last nite (3-12-12). There was really bright lights like shown in the video except it stayed in the sky in 1 spot for a hour before leaving. My husband said he saw it the nite before in that same spot.
I have to say as appealing as the footage is..it is definitely a series of released chinese lanterns as the previous guests have suggested. Just looking at the way the lights are advancing with the one or two following, it does not appear to be in any particular formation typically seen in a majority of UFO sightings with multiple orbs. But hey dude, keep your eyes to the sky and keep filming.
I saw these lights myself on March 13 above Plainfield, IL.
Where's O'Fallon?
Just saw nine lights tonight (March 22, 2012) and can say they are NOT lanterns. Not sure what they are but they were moving too fast and in too much of a pattern to be lanterns set off.
I live in O'Fallon and know where Mandy's is located. All I can say is keep your eyes to the sky because from reading this website and other posts the UFO activity has significantly increased in the month of April. It is getting to the point of needing to know how we detect, protect and deter whatever it is that is illegally invading our global airspace.
I've seen a light like those closely. and if any one notices any similar characteristics please post a reply. but they are indivigual crafts about 2 ft. in diamiter glowes yellow and can change red starting with spots symmetricaly spaced around that get bigger. it doesn't cast light on the surrounding aria ex(the ground, trees, or the window screen) makes no noise and is not affected by
